First Americans Museum Tour (FAM)
A special tour of the museum has been designed to celebrate the Ladies in Leather. You will experience the collective stories, the cultural diversity, and contributions of 39 Tribal Nations in Oklahoma. Your visit will include the 320 degree Origins Theatre, a dramatic video of the Removal of Natives to this land. The Pow Wow Van shares sights and sounds of pow wows all across Oklahoma. There are virtual games to play! The Veteran and Sports exhibits will be memorable. The Winiko Gallery displays objects with the history of Natives imbedded within each piece. The Ladies In Leather Guided tour will have special emphasis on Native mothers, daughters, and will highlight strong Native women leaders.
You may enjoy the First Americans Museum at your own time during rally week for a discounted rate of $8 with your LiL wristband. The museum is open Monday & Wednesday-Friday 10am-5pm and Saturday/Sunday from 11-5. (Closed on Tuesday). Special GUIDED RIDE to FAM on Friday, September 13th at 1:30 pm for a 2pm tour. You can take the guided ride or just meet there! The museum is conveniently located at 659 American Indian Blvd, just 4 miles from the Convention Center.
